“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” — John 8:12
“God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.” — 1 John 1:5

Reflection

Darkness hides, confuses, and frightens. Light reveals, guides, and brings life. Jesus declared that He is the Light of the world — not one light among many, but the true Light that shatters the darkness.

When we walk in His light, we don’t have to stumble through confusion or hide in shame. His light exposes what is hidden, but not to condemn us — rather to heal us. In His light, we find clarity, freedom, and truth.

Calling God our Light means we don’t have to live in fear of the unknown. Even when the path ahead looks dim, His presence illuminates each step. And one day, Scripture says, there will be no need for sun or lamp, for the Lord Himself will be our eternal light (Revelation 22:5).

Application

– Where do you feel like you’re walking in darkness right now?
– Ask God to shine His light into that situation and guide your steps.

Prayer

Light of the world, shine into my heart and scatter the shadows. Expose what needs to be healed, and guide me in the way of truth. Thank You that Your light brings freedom and life. Amen.
