Scripture Reading

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.” — Psalm 18:2
“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24

Reflection

Life can shift quickly. Finances change. Relationships strain. Health falters. Plans unravel. What once felt solid can suddenly feel like sand beneath your feet.

Scripture speaks into that instability with a steady declaration. “The LORD is my rock.” A rock does not shift with circumstances. It does not erode under pressure. It remains unmoved when storms come.

When Jesus spoke of building on the rock, He was not promising a storm free life. He was promising a secure foundation. Storms still come. Winds still beat against the house. But what is built on Him does not collapse.

God as our Rock means we are not required to hold everything together by our own strength. We are invited to rest our full weight on Someone who does not give way. Steady. Secure. Faithful.

Application

– What storm are you walking through right now?
– How can you rest more fully on the Rock instead of relying on your own strength?

Prayer

My Rock, when life feels unstable, help me remember that You are steady. When fear rises and the ground feels uncertain, teach me to rest on You. I choose today to build my trust, my hope, and my life on You alone. Amen.
